Set with an outlook onto natural bushland this home makes the most of its aspect with a solar passive design. In creating a robust family home the client has used industrial features but also ensured there is a warmth carried through the choice of materials.

Ply with a hoop pine veneer is featured in the cabinetry throughout. In the kitchen this is offset to dramatic effect with a matt black laminate. The ply end grain becomes a feature on the edges of the pigeon hole shelving and the handle cut outs. The industrial theme is carried through with a poured concrete island bench top and stainless steel benches with integrated sinks and splash backs used on the back wall.

Continuing through the home is the use of Ply with hoop pine veneer but in the wet areas this is contrast with a white laminate. The use of Ply on the bench tops in these areas keeps things contemporary and fresh and contrasts well with the use of grey tiles elsewhere.
